Application
1). Flavouring Ingredients:
Isovaleric acid is commonly used in the formulation of food flavours, such as cheese and cream flavours, and fruit-based flavours. It can also be used in baked goods and meat products to enhance the flavour of the food.
2). Drug Synthesis:
Isovaleric acid is an important raw material for the synthesis of certain drugs, such as the sedative-hypnotic drug bromoisovalerylurea. In addition, it can be used in the synthesis of other drugs, such as bromimisovar and endo-2,3-diisopropylsuccinic acid.
3). Industrial Solvents:
In the chemical industry, isovaleric acid can be used as a solvent for dissolving certain specific substances .
