Application
1). Essential Fatty Acids: cannot be synthesized by the body on its own, but need to be ingested through diet (e.g., vegetable oils, nuts, etc.) or supplements to maintain cell membrane structure and hormone synthesis.
2). Cardiovascular health: may help lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL), but excess may increase the risk of inflammation.
3). Skin Health: As a lipid component of the skin, it is involved in barrier function repair and is often used as an adjunctive treatment for eczema or dry skin.
4). Anti-inflammatory and moisturizing: added to lotions and essences to relieve inflammatory skin problems such as acne and dermatitis.

Storage
1). Avoid light: use brown glass bottle or aluminum foil wrapping to avoid UV-induced oxidation.
2). Low temperature: refrigeration below 4°C is recommended, long-term storage can be frozen (-20°C), but need to prevent repeated freezing and thawing.
3). Inert gas protection: Seal with nitrogen or argon to replace the oxygen in the container.
4). Material: glass or stainless steel containers are preferred to plastic (to avoid plasticizer migration).
5). Sealing: tightly sealed, reduce contact with air, use caps with rubber gaskets.
6). Moisture protection: Place in a desiccant (e.g. silica gel) environment to avoid moisture absorption and hydrolysis.
7). Segregated storage: keep away from oxidizers, strong acids/alkalis or metal ions (e.g. iron, copper).
Stability
1). Auto-oxidation: the double bond structure reacts easily with oxygen to form hydroperoxides and aldehydes and ketones, producing a rancid odor.
2). Photo-oxidation: light accelerates free radical chain reaction, need to strictly avoid light.
3). High temperature accelerated decomposition: oxidation rate increases significantly above 25°C.
4). Long-term storage risk: even if stored at low temperature, it is recommended to use it up within 6 months after opening.
5). Antioxidant: Add 0.01%-0.1% vitamin E (tocopherol) or BHT/BHA to retard oxidation.
6). Chelating agent: EDTA can complex metal ions and reduce catalytic oxidation.
