Storage
1). Temperature and Humidity: Store in a cool (≤30°C), dry location away from direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures (>60°C) may cause molecular degradation, impairing emulsification properties.
2). Ventilation and Light Protection: Keep in a well-ventilated area, away from fire sources and strong oxidizing agents. Some suppliers recommend nitrogen-purged storage to slow oxidation reactions.
3). Sealed Storage: Immediately reseal containers after use to prevent moisture and impurity contamination. Pharmaceutical-grade products are typically packaged in light-blocking glass bottles or aluminum foil-lined plastic bags.
Stability
1). Acid and alkali tolerance: Performance remains stable within a pH range of 4-10, with the lowest hydrolysis rate. Exposure to strong acids (pH <3) or strong alkalis (pH>10) may cause ester bond breakage, compromising emulsifying capability.
2). Temperature Adaptability: Short-term (<1 hour) exposure to 100°C has minimal impact on performance. However, prolonged high temperatures (>80°C) may trigger polyoxyethylene chain degradation, leading to a decrease in cloud point.
3). Oxidative Stability: The unsaturated fatty acid chains in the molecule are susceptible to oxidation. Contact with strong oxidizing agents should be avoided. Adding antioxidants can extend shelf life.
