Application
1). Exerts significant morphological effects on estrogen-stimulated endometrium, essential for maintaining pregnancy.
2). During the late menstrual phase, synergizes with estrogen to promote endometrial development and proliferation, transitioning it from the proliferative to secretory phase, thereby creating conditions for fertilized egg implantation and embryonic development.
3). Inhibits uterine contractions and sensitivity to oxytocin during pregnancy, exerting a tocolytic effect.
4). It acts synergistically with estrogen to promote further mammary gland development, preparing for lactation after childbirth.
5). At high doses, it can inhibit pituitary secretion of luteinizing hormone through feedback regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis, thereby suppressing ovulation.
