Application
1). Antibacterial and antiviral: Decanoic acid is able to destroy the cell membrane of microorganisms, and has a significant inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans.
2). Assist in the treatment of epilepsy: the metabolites of caprylic acid in medium chain triglycerides can generate ketone bodies, which can assist in the control of refractory epilepsy.
3). Drug carrier: decanoic acid modified nanoparticles can improve the bioavailability of hydrophobic drugs.
4). Emulsifier: decanoate, as a GRAS substance, can be used as an emulsifier in dairy products and baked goods.
5). Energy source: Decanoic acid can be absorbed directly through the portal vein, and is suitable for sports nutrition and special medical use formulas as a rapid energy source.
6). Preservative: It can replace the traditional paraben type preservatives and is used in lotions, shampoos and other cosmetics.
7). Lubricant synthesis: Zinc / calcium salt of decanoic acid can be used in the preparation of high temperature grease.
8). Plasticizers: Decanoic acid has good compatibility with PVC and can enhance the flexibility of the material.
Storage

Stability
1). Decanoic acid is a white solid at room temperature with an unpleasant odor.
2). Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol and most organic solvents.
3). Non-toxic, oral LC50 in mice is more than 10g/kg, but it is irritating to skin.
4). Decanoic acid is relatively stable under normal storage and use conditions, but under certain conditions such as high temperature, open flame or contact with strong oxidizing agents, chemical reactions such as combustion and oxidation may occur.
