Application
1). As a food additive, 2-methylbutyric acid is widely used in the formulation of flavorings for cheese, cream, chocolate, grilled foods, beverages, and candies.
2). It is used in the fragrance formulation of personal care products such as perfumes and detergents, imparting a fresh or unique aromatic character to the products.
3). As an intermediate, it is used in the synthesis of lubricants, plasticizers, fragrance esters, and compounds in the pharmaceutical and pesticide industries.
4). 2-Methylbutyric acid can be used to develop nanoscale sensors for detecting corn mold and to promote the production of bioactive substances in microbial fermentation, demonstrating its potential applications in agricultural quality control and biotechnology.
Storage
1). Store in a refrigerated environment at 0-6°C, avoiding high temperatures. Keep in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse, away from sources of fire and heat, and protect from direct sunlight.
2). Packaged in sealed containers, preferably made of stainless steel or aluminum, to avoid contact with metals such as nickel and copper. Must be stored separately from strong alkalis, strong oxidizing agents, and reducing agents; mixing is strictly prohibited to prevent dangerous chemical reactions.
3). Storage areas must be equipped with fireproof and explosion-proof facilities to prevent static electricity buildup. Handle with care during transportation to prevent container damage and leakage.
