Application
1). Pharmaceutical field: used in the synthesis of antibiotics (such as diclofenac), antiviral drugs and vitamin precursors.
2). Spices and dyes: as raw material for the synthesis of vanillin, γ-valerolactone and other spices.
3). Polymer materials: production of degradable plastics (e.g. polyacetylpropionate), resins and plasticizers (e.g. acetylpropionate).
4). Biofuel additives: Acetyl propionate (e.g. ethyl acetyl propionate) can be used as a green additive for gasoline or diesel.
5). Energy storage materials: intermediates for synthesizing battery electrolytes or electrode materials.
6). Cosmetics: Used as a mild acidic ingredient in skin care products or cleansers.
7). Replacing traditional organic solvents for environmentally friendly reaction systems.
Storage
1). TEMPERATURE: It is recommended to store in a cool place at 15-25°C, avoiding high temperatures (risk of decomposition).
2). Humidity: Keep dry with relative humidity <60% to prevent moisture absorption caking or hydrolysis.
3). Avoid light: use brown glass bottles or dark colored containers for storage to avoid decomposition by light.
4). Material: use corrosion-resistant containers (such as glass, stainless steel or polyethylene).
5). Sealing: seal strictly to prevent volatilization or oxidation (can be filled with nitrogen to protect).
6). Keep away from strong oxidizers (e.g. nitrates), strong acids/alkalis and high temperature heat sources.
Stability
1). Stable at room temperature: can be stored for a long time (1-2 years) under dry and light-protected conditions.
2). pH sensitivity: easily hydrolyzed or decomposed in strong acid/alkaline environment, need to be stored in neutral conditions.
3). Decomposition temperature: about >245°C (decomposition products are CO₂, furans, etc.).
4). High temperature risk: Long-term exposure to high temperatures may accelerate polymerization or oxidation.
5). Hygroscopicity: susceptible to moisture absorption leading to changes in concentration or increased corrosiveness (storage must be protected from moisture).
6). Oxidation risk: exposure to air may slowly oxidize, inert gas protection is recommended.
