Application
1). Used as a reagent for chromatographic analysis and organic synthesis.
2). Used in the preparation of coconut and berry flavours.
3). Commonly used in flavour base and formulated essential oils (e.g. vanilla leaf oil) as part of the head fragrance, can also be used in trace amounts in violet, osmanthus, magnolia, ylang ylang-type flavours to modify or increase the green tenderness of the scent, but also can be used in trace amounts in the edible coconut formulations, berries, and various types of fruity flavours.
4). Used as solvents and analytical reagents, also used in the pharmaceutical industry to produce preservatives and sleeping pills.
5). Standard for gas chromatography analysis. Separate lithium chloride from potassium chloride and sodium chloride. Solvent.
Storage
1) Keep sealed in a cool, dry place.
2) Store away from oxidizing agents.
3) Can be stored in iron, soft steel, copper or aluminum containers.
4) Ensure that the workroom is well ventilated and away from sources of ignition.
