Application
1). 2,3-Pentanedione is a common component in synthetic fragrances, used to provide the aroma of butter, strawberry, caramel, fruit, rum, or cheese in beverages, ice cream, candy, baked goods, gelatin, and pudding.
2). 2,3-Pentanedione also naturally occurs as a fermentation product in beer, wine, and yoghurt, and is released during the roasting of coffee beans.
