Application
1). High-boiling point solvent: As a high-boiling point (about 164°C) environmentally friendly solvent, it is widely used in coatings, inks, resins and adhesives, replacing traditional volatile solvents (e.g., toluene, xylene) and reducing VOC emissions.
2). Metal processing: used in degreasing agent or metal surface treatment fluid, dissolve grease and cutting oil residue.
3). Food additives: with fruit aroma (e.g. pineapple, banana), used in candy, beverage, baked goods flavoring (need to comply with FDA 21 CFR or EU 1334/2008 food-grade standards). standard).
4). Daily chemical flavor: used in perfume, skin care products, detergents, to provide long-lasting fruit flavor base.
5). Ester exchange reaction: participate in the synthesis of other butyric acid ester derivatives (such as methyl butyrate, isoamyl butyrate).

Storage
1). Temperature: store in a cool and ventilated place at an ideal temperature of 15-30°C. Avoid high temperatures (>40°C) leading to volatilization or decomposition.
2). Humidity: keep dry (relative humidity <60%), prevent moisture absorption and hydrolysis.
3). Avoid light: use brown glass bottles or HDPE drums for sealed storage to avoid UV accelerated oxidation.
4). Fire and explosion protection: Flash point about 71°C, flammable liquid, keep away from fire, static electricity and oxidizing agents (e.g. nitrates, peroxides).
5). Leakage treatment: absorb with sand or inert adsorbent, avoid direct contact with skin.
6). Recommended stainless steel, glass or chemical resistant plastics (e.g. HDPE, PTFE), avoid long-term contact with active metals such as aluminum and copper.
Stability
1). Hydrolysis: easily hydrolyzed to butyric acid and butanol under strong acid (pH <2) or strong base (pH >10) conditions.
2). Oxidation: may slowly oxidize when exposed to air for a long period of time, generating acidic products such as butyric acid (need to add antioxidants to extend shelf life).
3). Volatility: high boiling point (164°C), slow volatilization at room temperature, but still need to be kept sealed.
4). Miscibility: miscible with most organic solvents (e.g. ethanol, acetone), slightly soluble in water (about 0.01 g/100 mL).
5). Toxicity: low toxicity (LD50 rat oral >5 g/kg), but prolonged inhalation of vapors may cause respiratory irritation.
6). Environmental Impact: Biodegradable, but need to prevent contamination of water bodies by large amounts of leakage.
