Application
1). As a natural flavor, it is used in the formulation of grape, strawberry, cherry and other fruit flavored foods and beverages, such as fudge, ice cream, fruit juices, bakery products and so on.
2). To give products a fresh and sweet aroma.
3). Used in perfumes, colognes, cosmetics (such as creams, shampoos) as a fixative for floral or fruity notes to enhance the persistence of the fragrance.
4). Commonly used in soaps, shower gels and other daily necessities to provide a mild aromatic experience.
5). Used as a tobacco flavor additive to improve the olfactory and inhalation flavors of cigarettes, reducing irritation and increasing softness.
6). Pharmaceutical field: may be used as an intermediate of local anesthetic or antimicrobial agent.
7). Industrial field: used to synthesize other organic compounds (e.g. dyes, pesticide intermediates), but natural sources are less used.
Storage
1). Protected from light and sealed: stored in brown glass bottles or opaque containers to prevent light-induced decomposition or discoloration.
2). Cool and dry: the storage temperature is recommended to be lower than 25℃, humidity ≤60%, away from heat sources and open flames, to avoid high temperature accelerated volatilization or oxidation.
3). Well-ventilated: the storage area should be ventilated to prevent the accumulation of vapors that may cause safety hazards.
4). Use corrosion-resistant sealed containers (e.g. glass, stainless steel), avoid direct contact with plastic or metal (e.g. iron, aluminum) to prevent chemical reaction.
5). Keep away from oxidizers, strong acids and alkalis, store in partitioned areas and avoid mixed storage.
6). The shelf life of unopened product is usually 2-3 years, after opening, it is recommended to use it up within 6 months, and seal it in time after each use to prevent moisture absorption or volatilization of aroma.
7). Handle the product gently to prevent the container from breaking and causing leakage.
Stability
1). Light sensitivity: easy to decompose when exposed to strong light, resulting in deepening of color (e.g., from colorless or light yellow to dark yellow) and deterioration of aroma.
2). Heat sensitivity: volatile at high temperatures (>60℃), and may be hydrolyzed or oxidized, destroying the molecular structure.
3). Acid and alkali sensitivity: may be hydrolyzed in a strong acid or alkali environment, generating o-aminobenzoic acid or methanol, need to avoid contact with such substances.
4). Colorless to light yellow liquid at room temperature, volatile, need to be sealed and stored to maintain the concentration.
5). Avoid violent shaking to prevent pressure rise or contamination in the container.
Compatibility
6). Miscible with most organic solvents (e.g. ethanol, propylene glycol), but avoid mixing with strong oxidizing agents.
