Application
1). Edible flavors: with strong fruity aroma (similar to apple, pineapple or tropical fruits), they are widely used in beverages, candies, chewing gum, dairy products and baked goods as ingredients in natural or artificial flavors.
2). Daily chemical flavors: used in perfumes, cosmetics, soaps and detergents to provide a fresh and sweet fruity aroma.
3). As an organic solvent for dissolving polymeric materials in resins, inks, coatings or adhesives.
4). As a reaction medium or extractant in pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
5). Used in the synthesis of other ester compounds or fine chemicals (e.g., drugs, spice derivatives).
Storage
1). Temperature: Store in a cool, dry place, recommended temperature 15-25℃, avoid high temperature (may accelerate volatilization or decomposition).
2). Sealing: strictly sealed in glass, stainless steel or solvent-resistant plastic containers to prevent moisture absorption or oxidation.
3). Protection from light: sensitive to light, need to be stored away from light to maintain chemical stability.
4). FLAMMABILITY: Flammable liquid (flash point about 30-40℃), keep away from fire, static electricity and oxidizing agents (e.g. peroxides).
5). Compatibility: Avoid contact with strong acids and bases, which may trigger hydrolysis or violent reactions.
6). The storage area needs to be well ventilated to prevent the accumulation of vapors.
7). Wear protective gloves and goggles when handling to avoid direct contact with skin or inhalation of vapors.
Stability
1). Hydrolysis: It is easy to be hydrolyzed to form 2-methylbutyric acid and ethanol under humid or acid-base conditions, so it is necessary to keep the environment dry.
2). Oxidation: It may oxidize slowly when exposed to air for a long period of time. It is recommended to fill with nitrogen or add antioxidant for storage.
3). Volatility: Medium volatility, need to be sealed to minimize loss.
4). Thermal decomposition: high temperature (>100℃) may decompose to produce irritating gases (such as olefins or acids).
5). Regularly check the sealing of the container and the state of the liquid, if there is turbidity, discoloration or strange odor, stop using.
6). It is recommended to buy in small quantities in batches to avoid degradation of quality due to long term storage.
