Application
1). Food additives: with strong fruit flavor (similar to apple, banana or pear), widely used in beverages, candy, ice cream, baked goods, etc., to enhance or simulate the natural fruit flavor.
2). Daily chemicals and perfume: As a flavor component, it is used to blend perfumes, cosmetics, soaps, detergents, etc., providing a sweet floral and fruity aroma.
3). Used in coatings, inks, adhesives and other products to dissolve organic substances such as resins and cellulose derivatives.
4). Used as reaction medium or extraction solvent in pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
5). Participate in ester exchange, hydrolysis and other reactions for the synthesis of other ester compounds, spices or drug intermediates.
Storage
1). TEMPERATURE: Store in a cool, ventilated place (recommended temperature below 30°C), avoid high temperatures and direct sunlight (may accelerate decomposition or volatilization).
2). Sealing: tightly seal the container (e.g. glass, stainless steel or solvent-resistant plastic) to prevent volatilization and moisture absorption leading to hydrolysis.
3). Fire prevention measures: it is a flammable liquid (flash point about 50-60℃), keep it away from fire, heat and static electricity, and the storage area is equipped with explosion-proof equipment.
4). Avoid contact with strong acids, strong bases, oxidizing agents (e.g. peroxides) or reducing agents, which may cause violent reactions or decomposition.
5). Avoid the use of ordinary plastic containers (may be dissolved by esters), it is recommended to use inert material containers.
6). The storage area should be equipped with ventilation facilities to prevent the accumulation of vapors.
7). Transportation should be done according to hazardous chemical specifications and labeled as flammable liquid.
Stability
1). Hydrolysis: easily hydrolyzed under acidic or alkaline conditions to form valeric acid and isopentyl alcohol, need to keep dry environment.
2). Oxidation: The structure is relatively stable, but may slowly oxidize when exposed to air for a long period of time, it is recommended to keep it filled with nitrogen.
3). Volatility: medium volatility, need to be kept sealed to minimize losses.
4). Thermal stability: may decompose at high temperatures (>100°C) and produce irritating gases (e.g. acids or olefins).
5). Regularly check the sealing of the container to avoid mixing of moisture or impurities.
6). If there is turbidity, precipitation or odor, it indicates possible deterioration and needs to be disposed of.
