Application
1). Used as a solvent and humidifier, also used in the production of plasticizers, pharmaceuticals, polyester resins, polyurethane resins and so on.
2). Used as a reagent for chromatographic analysis, also used in organic synthesis.
3). 1,4-Butanediol is widely used. In the United States and Western Europe, more than half of it is used in the production of tetrahydrofuran, followed by the production of γ-butyrolactone and polybutylene terephthalate, the latter is a rapidly developing engineering plastics.
4). Solvent. Wetting agent. Intermediate of plasticizer. Crosslinking agent for manufacturing polyurethane high elastomer. Organic synthesis. Manufacture of tetrahydrofuran.
Storage
1). Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse away from fire.
2). Keep containers sealed and stored away from oxidizers and stored away from water sources.
3). Emergency spill response equipment and suitable sheltering materials should be available.
4). Can be stored in sealed containers made of soft steel, aluminum or copper.
5). Packed in aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized iron drums or plastic drums, or stored and transported in tankers according to the regulations for flammable and toxic substances.
6). Because the melting point is as high as 20℃, the tanker should be equipped with a heating tube.
Stability
1). No decomposition at room temperature and pressure. Avoid contact with oxides, humid moisture.
2). Hygroscopic, non-corrosive to metals. Flammable, low toxicity. Toxic.
3). When attached to diseased or injured skin or when drinking, it will show anesthetic effect at first, cause special pathological changes in liver and kidney, and then die suddenly (without long latency) due to central nervous paralysis.
4). Production equipment should be airtight to prevent leakage, and operators should wear protective gear.
5). Contact with this product is strictly prohibited for people with skin trauma.
