Application
1). Provides a strong apple, banana or pineapple aroma and is widely used in confections, beverages, baked goods and dairy products.
2). Meets GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) standards and is used as a natural flavor equivalent.
3). Daily chemical products: used in perfume, skin care products, detergents, etc., to give a fresh fruity tone.
4). Industrial flavors: the key ingredient for mixing tropical fruits, mixed fruits and other complex flavors.
5). Used as a solvent in paints and inks, dissolving resins and cellulose derivatives.
6). Raw material for synthesizing other esters or pharmaceutical intermediates.
7). A small amount is used in tobacco flavoring to improve the sweetness of the smoke.
8). Used as reaction solvent or standard for aroma research in laboratory.
Storage
1). Protect from light: store in brown glass bottles or light-proof containers to prevent oxidation or decomposition triggered by ultraviolet rays.
2). Low temperature: It is recommended to store it in the shade at 15-25℃, high temperature (>35℃) will accelerate volatilization and chemical degradation.
3). Sealing: Tightly sealed (e.g. with PTFE lined caps) to prevent moisture absorption and volatilization.
4). Nitrogen can be used to fill the top space of the container for long term storage to minimize contact with oxygen.
5). Keep away from strong oxidizing agents (e.g. peroxides), strong acids/bases to avoid hydrolysis or ester bond breakage.
Stability
1). Easily hydrolyzed to isovaleric acid and butanol under acidic or alkaline conditions, need to control the environmental humidity (relative humidity <60%).
2). Short-term temperature resistance is good, but long-term high temperature (>40 ℃) will lead to decomposition, it is recommended that the storage temperature does not exceed 30 ℃.
3). Exposure to air may slowly oxidize and produce rancid odor, need to be stored isolated from oxygen.
4). Ultraviolet light may trigger photolytic reaction, storage away from light may extend shelf life (usually 2-3 years).
