Application
1). Green solvent and chemical synthesis
Eco-solvent: As a bio-based green solvent, it replaces traditional toxic solvents (e.g. DMF, THF) and is used in drug synthesis, polymer materials and coating industry.
Organic synthesis intermediates: participate in esterification, ring-opening polymerization and other reactions to synthesize γ-hydroxyvaleric acid, polyester and other chemicals.
2). Energy field
Lithium battery electrolyte additives: enhance the thermal stability and electrochemical performance of electrolyte, prolong battery life.
Biofuel precursor: converted from biomass (e.g. cellulose), can further prepare fuel additives (e.g. valeric acid esters).

Storage
1). Container and sealing
Use glass, stainless steel or chemical-resistant plastic containers (e.g. HDPE), strictly sealed to prevent moisture absorption and volatilization.
2). Environmental requirements
Temperature: It is recommended to store at 15-30°C, avoid high temperature (>50°C) leading to decomposition.
Humidity: Relative humidity ≤50% to prevent hydrolysis to form γ-hydroxyvaleric acid.
Avoid light: Store in a cool place to avoid UV accelerated oxidation.
3). Safety measures
Keep away from strong oxidizing agents, strong acids/alkalis, keep ventilated; avoid contact with metal powders (may catalyze side reactions).
Stability
1). Chemical Stability
Hydrolysis: easily hydrolyzed under acidic/alkaline conditions or high temperature and high humidity, need to maintain a neutral environment.
Oxidation: may slowly oxidize when exposed to air for a long period of time, can be stored in nitrogen or add antioxidants (e.g. BHT).
2). Thermal stability
Short-term heat resistance is good (boiling point 207-208°C), but prolonged high temperature may cause polymerization or decomposition.
3). Long-term storage
Shelf life is usually 2-3 years, check color and odor regularly, cloudy or sour smell indicates deterioration.
