Application
1). Flavor enhancers and flavor improvers: caramel, fruit (such as strawberry, vanilla) or roasted flavor, can enhance the sweetness and aroma of food, masking undesirable odors (such as the fishy smell of dairy products, the stink of meat).
2). Widely used in candy, baked goods, beverages (e.g. carbonated drinks, fruit juice), seasonings, ice cream, meat products, tobacco, etc.
3). As a flavor enhancer for animal feed, improve palatability and promote the appetite of livestock and poultry.
4). Used as flavor component in cosmetics.
5). Used as organic synthesis intermediates in some industrial fields.
Storage
1). Environmental requirements: sealed and stored in a cool, dry, ventilated place away from light, away from fire and strong oxidizing agents.
2). Temperature control: Recommended storage temperature ≤25℃, avoid high temperature environment leading to volatilization or decomposition.
3). Package protection: use sealed original container or food grade plastic drum to prevent moisture absorption.
4). Shelf life: Under the compliant storage conditions, the shelf life is usually 2-3 years.
Stability
1). Good stability at room temperature, dry, light conditions, not easy to decompose.
2). It may decompose gradually in high temperature (e.g. above 60℃ for a long time) or strong acid and alkali environments, releasing volatile components, so it is recommended to add it at the late stage of food processing (low temperature stage) to retain the flavor.
3). Avoid direct contact with strong oxidizing agents, strong acids / strong bases to avoid chemical reaction.
Prolonged contact with metal ions (e.g. iron, copper) may affect color (slight discoloration), but generally does not affect functionality.
