Application
1). Allyl heptanoate has a fruity aroma (similar to the aroma of tropical fruits such as pineapple, apple, etc.), and is widely used in food flavorings and daily chemical products (such as perfumes, shampoos and skin care products) as a scenting ingredient.
2). As an allyl ester compound, it can be used as an intermediate in organic synthesis, participating in reactions such as ester exchange and polymerization. For example, it may be used as a cross-linking agent or monomer in free radical polymerization.
3). The double-bonded structure of allyl may be used to prepare specialty polymers or resins that impart specific properties (e.g., heat resistance, flexibility) to the material.
Storage
1). Protection from light and moisture: store in a cool, dry place, away from light (brown glass bottles or opaque containers are recommended).
2). Temperature control: It is recommended that the temperature is below 25°C. High temperature may accelerate decomposition or volatilization.
3). Inert gas protection: if stored for a long period of time, it can be filled with nitrogen to reduce the risk of oxidation.
4). Prefer glass, stainless steel or corrosion-resistant plastic (e.g. HDPE) containers to avoid contact with strong acid/alkali materials.
5). Keep away from oxidizers, strong acid, strong alkali and fire source, store in special chemical cabinet with good ventilation.
Stability
1). Easily hydrolyzed under humidity or acid/alkali conditions to form heptanoic acid and allyl alcohol. It is necessary to keep the environment dry and pH neutral.
2). The double bond structure may be oxidized, resulting in deterioration (e.g., generation of peroxides or aldehydes and ketones), it is recommended to add antioxidants (e.g., BHT).
3). May decompose or polymerize at high temperatures, need to avoid prolonged exposure to heat. Avoid prolonged exposure to heat. Store away from heat sources.
4). Ultraviolet light may cause decomposition or isomerization, need to strictly avoid light.
