Application
1). Food Industry:
Widely used as food additives (flavors) to give fruit flavor (e.g. coconut, peach, tropical fruits) to candies, beverages, dairy products etc.
2). Daily chemical products:
Used in perfume, skin care products, shampoo, etc., to provide a sweet fruity flavor base.
3). Pharmaceuticals and chemicals:
As an organic synthesis intermediate, used in the preparation of drugs or other fine chemicals (such as ester derivatives).
Storage
1). Temperature:
2-8°C refrigerated storage is recommended, long-term storage should be protected from light and sealed; short-term can be room temperature (below 25°C).
2). Environmental control:
Avoid light: UV light may trigger decomposition, brown glass bottle or aluminum foil wrapping is required.
Moisture Protection: Maintain a dry environment (relative humidity <60%) to prevent hydrolysis.
Inert gas protection: Fill with nitrogen to slow down oxidation.
3). CONTAINER MATERIAL:
Use glass or stainless steel containers, avoid contact with plastics (e.g. PVC) to prevent dissolution.
Stability
1). Thermal stability:
High temperature (>80°C) may cause decomposition or polymerization, avoid prolonged heating.
2). Chemical stability:
Hydrolysis: easily hydrolyzed to 4-hydroxynonanoic acid under strong acid/alkali conditions, need to keep away from acid and alkali environment.
Oxidation: may slowly oxidize in contact with air, recommended to be kept sealed.
3). Long-term storage:
Regularly check the purity, if there is turbidity or odor changes need to be repurified.
