Application
1). Flavoring Core Ingredient: Widely used in perfumes, cosmetics, soaps and detergents to provide fresh floral (similar to lavender, bergamot) or woody base notes.
2). Flavor Blending: Used in food flavors (e.g. citrus beverages, candies) as a top or middle note ingredient, subject to food grade standards.
3). Antibacterial & Sedative: with natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, used in topical medicines or essential oil therapies (e.g. anxiety relief, sleep aid).
4). Pharmaceutical intermediates: raw material for synthesizing vitamin E, terpenes.
5). Solvent and extractant: dissolve resin, oil, used in paint or natural product extraction.
6). Insect repellent: additive for some insecticides or mosquito repellent products.
7). Agriculture: as plant growth regulator or pest attractant.
8). Electronic Cigarette Liquid: one of the basic ingredients for blending the flavor of cigarette oil.
Storage
1). Use dark glass or stainless steel containers, tightly sealed to minimize oxidation and volatilization (linalool is easily oxidized and volatile).
2). Avoid the use of ordinary plastic containers (may be dissolved or permeated).
3). Temperature: Store in a cool place (15-25°C recommended), avoid high temperatures (>30°C accelerates volatilization and decomposition).
4). Protection from light: need to be stored away from light (UV rays accelerate oxidation reactions).
5). Humidity: maintain a dry environment to prevent moisture absorption or microbial contamination.
6). Fire protection: keep away from fire and heat sources (flash point about 76°C, it is a flammable liquid).
7). SEPARATE STORAGE: Store separately from strong oxidizers (e.g. peroxides, nitric acid), strong acids/alkalis.
Stability
1). Oxidation sensitivity: easily oxidized to produce linalool oxides or polymerization when exposed to air, need to add antioxidants (such as BHT) to extend the stability.
2). Acid and alkali sensitivity: structural decomposition or isomerization may occur under strong acid or alkali environment.
3). High temperature decomposition: >100°C may decompose to produce aldehydes or olefins, long-term high temperature will reduce the purity.
4). Sensitive to light, light (especially ultraviolet rays) accelerates oxidization and deterioration, need to be stored away from light.
5). Stable for 1-2 years under unopened conditions, recommended to be used up within 6-12 months after opening, regular testing of odor and purity changes.
