Application
1). Used as a natural flavor and fragrance to provide a fruity, creamy or sweet aroma, commonly used in baked goods, dairy products and beverages.
2). Used as an aromatic ingredient in perfumes, lotions, and skin care products to impart a mild fragrance; may be used as a humectant or solvent to aid in formulation stability.
3). As drug intermediates or precursors, involved in the synthesis of energy supplements (such as ketone body metabolism-related products).
4). Solvent or intermediate in organic synthesis, used in the preparation of polymer materials or fine chemicals.
Storage
1). Protected from light, sealed storage, recommended to be stored in a cool and dry place, temperature control at 15-25°C (long-term storage can be placed in 2-8°C).
2). Keep away from fire, heat and strong oxidizing agents (such as peroxides, nitrates), avoid direct contact with acids and alkalis.
3). Use anti-static containers and keep well ventilated.
4). It is recommended to use dark glass bottles or containers made of inert material, sealed and moisture-proof to avoid moisture absorption and hydrolysis.
Stability
1). Stable at room temperature, but easily hydrolyzed under high temperature (>40°C) or strong acid/base conditions to form 3-hydroxybutyric acid and ethanol.
2). Prolonged exposure to light may lead to decomposition, need to be stored away from light.
3). Shelf life is about 2-3 years under unopened condition. It is recommended to use it as soon as possible after opening and to seal it tightly.
4). Avoid mixed storage or reaction with oxidizing agents, strong acids (e.g. sulfuric acid), strong bases (e.g. sodium hydroxide).
