Storage
1). Environmental control

Stability
1). Chemical stability
Oxidation reaction: double bonds are easily oxidized by oxygen to generate peroxides, leading to rancidity (BHT, vitamin E and other antioxidants can be added).
Hydrolysis reaction: under acidic/alkaline conditions or high temperature and high humidity, hydrolyzed to oleic acid and ethanol, affecting performance.
2). Physical Stability
Phase separation: may be delaminated if left for a long time, shake well before use (if containing other ingredients).
Viscosity change: oxidation or polymerization may cause viscosity increase.
3). Testing and Maintenance
Periodic testing: Judge whether it is deteriorated by acid value (AV) and peroxide value (PV) (AV>1 mg KOH/g or PV>10 meq/kg need to be treated).
Storage life: usually stable for 1-2 years under unopened conditions, recommended to be used up within 6-12 months after opening.
